Privacy Policy

What DeerReader collects: nothing

DeerReader does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no third-party advertising SDKs, and no trackers of any kind. Your audiobooks, collections, and listening activity stay on your devices.

The support-us message

DeerReader's occasional support-us message comes from DeerReader itself. It is not served by an advertising network, and it does not profile you, follow you, or report anything about you to anyone.

DeerReader Server sync

If you use DeerReader Server, the app talks directly to your own Mac over your local network to download books and sync playback positions. That data moves between your devices and never passes through our servers — we don't have any.

Purchases

The optional supporter subscription is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple account. We receive no personal or payment information from Apple about you. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

This website

This site is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads all of its fonts and images from its own domain.

Terms of Use

Your library, your responsibility

DeerReader is a player for DRM-free audio files you legally own or are licensed to use. You are responsible for making sure the content you import complies with applicable law and the terms under which you obtained it.

Supporter subscription

DeerReader is free to use. The optional supporter subscription ($9.99 per year) removes the support-us message. It is billed to your Apple account, renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple account's subscription settings.

License

Use of the app is licensed, not sold, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

No warranty

DeerReader is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make it reliable, but to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for any damages arising from its use.

Changes and contact
